For people who have moved somewhere very remote do you think you’ll have a hard time landing your next job? Like your current job let you move remote, but then you won’t meet people working for good companies in the middle of nowhere

STARTUP FOUNDERS and FAANG: would you rather hire MBB with 3-4 years of exp or Tier 2 with 5-6 years? If you could isolate those variables and everything else held constant.

I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. After slowly climbing the ladders, I feel like I finally got a seat at the table. Half the days I like the hustle, but now I miss being creative. I want to take more brainstorming, decision making responsibilities but I don’t see that in the career path for PM. Career path usually goes like this- Sr PM, Director, Sr Director, and so on. But all do same work.

Received a verbal offer/commitment from the engineering team 3 weeks after my interview process. Still sitting and waiting (1.5 weeks) to have the conversation about compensation expectations and finalizing the offer. Is the Google hiring process typically this slow? Hello! I need some (creative) suggestions on how to do a video interview. I live in a very small 1br apartment with my husband occupying the bedroom for work during the day and a 2 yr old occupying the living area. I thought of the kitchen but it’s proximity to a busy road makes it a little too noisy to have a good call. The bathroom perhaps? Will that create an echo? I am thinking of using a backdrop so that the mess will be covered up. It will be a 30-min interview.

Our firm told everyone no bonuses this year due to the pandemic. However, people like myself with high utilization received a “bonus” in terms of a gift card. My director notified me of this, but the other day my boss was mentioning how no bonuses this year really sucks. I was told by the director to not mention it to anyone but I figured if anyone knew I got one it’d be my boss. I feel super uncomfortable now because do I essentially lie to my boss because I’m not supposed to talk about it.
