Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.
Fishes, OK so this is true. Wipro is delaying the joining by half a month due to some restrictions or organisational changes & not ready to compensate for that half a month loss of salary. Very rude & absurd behaviour from them. Hence rejecting the offer as such company if u aren't sure when to ask for joining u may revoke the offer letter later on. Hence multiple options in hand is necessary nowadays. Infosys Tata Consultancy HCL Technologies

Now print out the list of names of people who die from the common flu every year despite there being vaccines. Or deaths from car accidents, or medical errors, or any other “preventable” death if we resorted to draconian measures.
Sorry you want to live in a bubble but real life dictates that you accept a certain amount of risk every time you step outside of your house.
You do realize Johns Hopkins and the CDC are mostly aggregating stats based on what’s reported to them? Which is my main point, garbage in, garbage out.
And you’re going to throw out other anecdotal evidence because of your own anecdotal evidence? LOL, who’s the dense one?

Letting hundreds of people lose their jobs for every person that died is not a fair tradeoff IMO.
Rising Star
You mean MILLIONS who have lost their jobs PLUS the uptick in suicide rates.

Failing NY Times!
Donald has failed us. But now open the economy. The scared and afraid ones can stay at home, but everyone else shall be free.

PwC: If we had been as smart as South Korea with testing and contract tracing, our economy wouldn’t have tanked. By shutting down, we saved thousands of lives. We can open up now but only if done safely, with testing and contract tracing in place.
