Deloitte is the bigger name and pays a bit better but Grant Thronton has way nicer people and known to have a way better cultre and work environment. What should I do? Where should I go?Deloitte Grant Thornton

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

My comment specific to undergrad. Not sure what the MBA field is looking like. Also, @D1, for what it's worth, the campus I'm referring to was supposed to have a Deloitte campus presentation today and Deloitte notified them of the cancellation at 10p last night. Looks like they are making last second decisions.
What schools? That's insane
No FT MBA hiring for S&O this year or FT UG for HC. Confirmed with recruiting.
@D7 so someone on that path is in the top part of the caste?
Yup, cut at 15 schools
Human Capital isn't recruiting for full time campus this year. Only interns
Strategically at the MBA level, I know Deloitte made the conscious decision 2-3 years ago to drastically decrease full-time recruiting and focus on interns. They did some data analysis and found that returning interns got substantially better performance reviews and stayed with the firm longer.
They should really see how many interns go to MBB. The number is non trivial.
Heard rumors of at least one campus recruiting team getting this news recently. As of now we are still going to my university but offers have decreased.
Heard the same
For MBAs?
I think the concern is whether this is a long term change in strategy (not scary but sucks) or is it due to short term economic factors (scary and sucks)
There is a bigger focus on intern conversion. However not having a campus presence for full time recruiting and canceling events is a bad sign.
But for undergraduates S&O only has 25-30 commercial interns compared to 180-200 full time people.
Yeah the MBA ratio is not as bad (intern / full time)
Yes I heard too that we stopped doing 2nd year mbas in many schools
Lol that banking recruiting strategy. Afaik MBB definitely hires a lot more ft than interns tho!
Jesus.
I was a ft hire. Its difficult to get staffed. Even interns need to be lucky. The only path that is primed for success at Deloitte is summer scholar - ba - c - gsap - mba. Every other path is disadvantaged.
D7 that speaks more to the staffing model and talent management than path limitations
