Do you get enough rest? Sleep? How’s your diet? Do you exercise? Do you stimulate your mind other than in work? Do you laugh? Do you have hobbies? I know you may laugh, my partner is at McK and it’s a tough life. I know it too, I was in big law for years. But to keep going you need to do the above. You also may be experiencing fatigue or burnout. Unless your gunning for a new designation, maybe take a long break. Unpaid leave. Paid leave. Something to recharge.
Good luck, OP! PS I’m in my late 30s, I’ve been there!
You are not alone, I feel like I’m not as sharp as I used to be….
I’m 40. It’s catching up. But what’s worked for me are these things.
1. Routine in the morning to ground myself and thoughts. Literally as a get out of bed and planting my feet on the ground and breathing into my feet.
2. Stretch body or 10 minute Kassandra morning yoga
3. Shower
4. Light twist exercises
5. Sit and do meditation on twin hearts.
6. Breakfast
7. Crush my day.
8. I will take a nap during the day if I have to and make up the hours after.
9. Stretch and drink water
10. Exercise (don’t use the word workout or gym, it plays with my psychi so I soften the words) it’s less of a job then but to exercise is preparing my body for a hoods nights rest.
Comedies, family time, shifting focus off work and utilising time towards things you. What do you get joy from?
My brother had lent me his drop top. Thought it was a poser car, but boy hood down driving through the English country side on empty roads while the sun is setting is magical and invigorates my soul again!
Shift it buddy. You’re too young to crash and burn.
DM me we can work though it.

Do you have a lot of stressors in your life that you didn’t have when you were younger? Do you have a consistent exercise routine, do you try to eat well, do you take time for yourself and hobbies that bring you happiness, and do you prioritize sleep? I’m around your age and I try to do all of those things as much as I can.
Yes to stress and diet. No to exercise and sleep.
38 here.
Last two years have been overwhelming - tons of work, family live, getting Covid twice and by my nature still kept pushing and never took time to unwind.
Working in a fast paced and performance driven environment, global matrix org, etc.
Felt the same issues that you describe, surprisingly it only took some down time for myself, trying new things and putting away that Laptop and iPhone (work and private) very consistently.
Always kept 3-4 workouts and things were going well on the surface, but life felt pale and stuck at that time.
Believe little changes can have a massive impact.
