Fun Sunday question: at what age do you introduce your kids to Star Wars movies? And do you go chronologically?

I think my son was 8 when we started watching them. We did it in release order. Don't do it chronological as there are too many spoilers in the first three that would ruin the second three. Plus the first ones start off too slow so it could turn kids off.

I think around 9-10 is a good age...more fun to do it the way the were released I found

At around seven to eight years old. But before that, they're already aware of the characters because of their toys. It's a fun process and yes, chronologically.

Personally, around four to seven years old was the sweet spot. At that age, most children have sufficient attention span to sit down and follow a feature-length story. Yes, we go chronologically.

Okay finance gurus, I have an idea and interested in your thoughts. Might be a bad one so be gentle 🙂. I have a 2 yr old and another on the way. Need to start planning for college. I was thinking of buying a condo or 2 in lieu of saving and selling them down the line for tuition. Condos downtown are pretty inexpensive (T3) so it’s financially feasible. But is this a good idea or too risky?

How do people decide or take this big decision of spending the rest of life with someone by just meeting them few times in arrange marriage setup. Where parents are involved and which makes things so complicated as more people of other generation have different thinking and mindset. People spend years in relationship the. Breakup then get over it and then again go in another relationship for years and finally marry someone who they barely know. (Cont. In comment)

Husband is a multi sport coach and gone a lot in season, I work in corp banking. Thinking about getting a travel trailer since I camp alone with the kids a lot in the summer, spring and fall for quick weekends. Does anybody do this where you take, maybe 1 day, to create multiple 3 day weekends scattered throughout the year for little trips instead of taking vaca in longer stints? Do you feel more refreshed with lots of smaller trips, or more with a few long trips? Kids are 1 & 3.

Is it okay to disappear from friends & family to work on career change goals (several months)? I want to focus and not get distracted by friends & family needs to see me or attend certain things as it takes up a lot of time. If I focus for a short time, I can quickly achieve my goals to switch. I can hangout with them after all of that. What do you think?? Any feedback will be appreciated.

I'm a US citizen living abroad I applied almost 11 months ago for my spouse. Married for years, kid. I wait and wait. It seems this will take 2 years, maybe more. I feel trapped. On one side the US system demands I work and domicile in US, the other side says families should be prioritized to stay together. My spouse has had enough of the process. I feel trapped abroad and locked in a dysfunctional system. We're just in limbo, it's depressing

For couples who are not married yet - Do you guys talk about net worth, income, or anything even finance related? I know my SO earns more given his current industry, but thinks it’s rude to talk about those things. But I’m wondering… isn’t it normal for couples who live together or are married share those info? For example - How am I going to know what to pay for our child’s education in the future etc?

I’m going to be a dad! But I have some questions. When should I tell my manager/teams? I’m up for senior promotion this year, will this impact that promotion? For those of you that work in public what tips do you have for managing your work and family responsibilities? For context, my wife, once she’s done with maternity leave, will only work 25-30 hours a week. I know working in public and having a new born is probably going to be a lot to juggle, but I have to make it work.

When the IRS (e.g., a RO/AO/Examiner) calls or writes a letter… How do you verify that it’s really the IRS and not a scam? I’m new to tax law and I’m worried that I’m going to respond to/answer a scam and give away client info (or my own tax preparer info).
