Funny that we’re told to negotiate EVERYTHING - but then get punished for doing exactly that in sales interviews?! I pushed for a higher OTE on a recent role and got feedback that I was "too focused on money" ..but isn’t that the point in sales? For folks who’ve landed better comp packages, how did you talk numbers without getting labeled some greedy person? I’m trying to find the right tone that’s confident but not cocky.

Interviewed for Deloitte S&A Tech Strategy SC and got a verbal offer for Consultant instead. I negotiated the offer to 120K salary and 10K signing bonus. I’m a boomerang with 4 years ERP consulting but this past year I’ve been doing DEI Consulting. Spoke with former colleagues who rejoined Deloitte and got a much higher offer for SC. How do I go back to the recruiter to negotiate further? I suggested that I’d probably sign but need time to think. Now I’d like to go back and request 140k salary.

Interested in joining the Reserves, but I’m guessing that’s way too much with a consulting career? No ROTC or previous military experience so I’d have to go through OCS/OTS as well.
Or is it better to wait until I exit to industry and pursue my interest in the military then?
