Gartner I’m currently interviewing for an AE (conferences) position and was curious to hear from some people within on how many people hit their quota, how attainable it is to blow it out and just some inside info on what day to day is like in a position like this. Also coming from someone with no outside sales face to face experience I was curious what it’s like making that transition.

I work in a small home care agency around 45 patients, 90 employees, including me and 4 other office staff members.

My position was office coordinator until my boys striped me of that title. But I assist with scheduling, I/T, tech support, supervising, payroll, billing, and more.

What am I actually doing? I feel over worked, over utilized, underpaid (but that's not the biggest issue) and over stimulated.

Got an offer for non- tech Campaign & Creative Manager and wondering if its worth it to accept. I feel like I was lowballed & downleveld despite having 6 YOE (relev. but not in tech). Not sure it is smart to leave my current role to get my foot in the door.

I’m so bad at writing the background/ facts section for briefs… it always gets heavily edited and no one is giving me constructive feedback other than “advocate more”. In contrast, my legal argument section is generally without edits. For context, first defense lit job post appellate clerkship. Is this normal?? Any tips for getting better other than “advocating more”?

My husband and I worked together at the same company for a year in different departments and they laid off 25 employees last week. My husband was one of them. 💔
It was dealt with poorly and severance benefits were bad compared to other companies we are seeing in the media. I’m really struggling to move forward and heal. I get modeling a monthly income statement - how common is it to model out a monthly balance sheet / statement of cash flow? My annual balances but I am having a ton of trouble with my monthly CFS and balance sheet.. want to know if I will be yelled at for having a monthly (and annual) income statement and a yearly balance sheet and cfs

What is the best decision you made in your career?

Why do some internships require that I enroll in classes in the Fall? An internship is often the final requirement to graduate, at least it was for my undergrad. This also excludes every accelerated graduate program student from securing those positions. Why can’t companies hire their interns at the end of the summer?

Why worry about job security if you are skilled.

I think if one is skilled, then they can find another job easily.

Everyone has heard the excuse “I’m underperforming because my territory sucks”. What if you can prove that you are objectively being screwed by the territory you inherited? There’s only so much “find a way” you can manage in barren land and it’s quite tiresome to see your peers succeed off of less than half the effort. I work remote, travel the world for free few times/year attending conferences, and just try to sell as much as I can. No stress, no quotas and what you would probably consider a “kushy” sales job.
