Contract role is pretty risky. Is it possible to string big 4 along for 6 months?
Contract role has benefits? When you say “previous employer”, you talking about a specific manager there? Large organizations typically don’t actually take it personally when they’re turned down / someone comes back in 6 months. You might not even deal with the same recruiter / hiring manager.
No talking to partners directly, not a recruiter. tried submitting application via job page but no response
150 per hour for 6 months is 150k. How does it compare with 140 K for 12 months? Ask EY to wait 6 months
Take the 150/hr and RUN
I would go with the contract role, but set up a S Corp so that you can write off a ton of expenses. Play it out and see what options come your way.
Enables you to quickly shift to subK model if you want or if circumstances dictate it.
If I go with contract I will be looking for a job again in 6 months, and previous employer may not hire me later and the fact that they spoke to me after few years and interested to bring me in, I feel like I might burn the bridge if I decide to take the contracting role. The contract hourly rate is really good and my resume will look sloppy because I have changed job every three years
$150/hour is 2.2x $140k/year. If the role and org are good, I’d try the contract gig and see how it plays out
I know the work and system in and out and had done this few times during my time with consulting
Contract role if they can not terminate before the end of 6months. The big 4’s are always. Hiring especially if you start not, 6 moths later is when big 4 folks need people in April /may. Make that money and save it.
If I know I am a good fit for the contract role, I will take it while looking for opportunities for when the contract ends. If you know you have good skills you should be able to get a job after the contract role
Is the contract job 40 hours a week?
Yes max 45 hours a week, anything after 45 is overtime rate
