Okay so I’m a newly licensed attorney in a very conservative part of TX. I just got my first job offer and I was worried at first thinking that I was in “Trump” territory, but I tested the waters in my interview and spoke about police injustices and how prosecutor’s job is not only to protect victims, but also defendants from police injustices. I have to let them know by tomorrow, but thoughts on if this is a good career move for someone who wants to work in transactional work-RE or Bankruptcy?

Hey everyone, I’m a recent grade (2yrs post undergrads. I have event managing, stage managing, and currently working as a daily operations manager for a small content creating agency. Additionally, I take on little projects to helps friends/family. I want to pivot into Project Management, but I’m not sure how to leverage the skills I have. Thoughts: Managers and senior managers should intervene when project folks starts working more than 8 hours. It's sad that initially everybody talks about 8 hours work goal but employee forced or end up working more than 10 hours. Company is not asking you to work more than 8 hours, it's the pressure from peers and seniors and managers who do "a gentle request" to finish a task asap.
Also managers, Please teach new techies to hold the horses and not put there peer in pressure.

I went to a T14 law school, got great grades and glowing recommendations, and wrote (what I thought was) a great writing sample. But I got rejected from all 70 federal clerkships I applied to. The only thing I can think of is: I took a non traditional route after law school and did a 2 year public interest fellowship in a niche field of administrative law. The rejection gave me a lot of self hatred. I still really want to clerk. Any advice? What is wrong with me? I feel like a failure.

I have a background in finance, having been a Finance Disbursing Officer in the Army for 6 years with one deployment in that role. For writing samples in clerkship applications, can you edit/revise a final work product already submitted to the court? For instance, if there's a typo or something. Can more substantive edits be made to improve the work product?

How does everyone track their daily and long term work to-dos (lists)? I am not the best at organising and feel overwhelmed with tracking and prioritising. Any tips?

I graduated in May 2020, but did not start working at my firm until September 2020. I’ll start my clerkship in June 2021 — will I start at JS-12 or JS-13? If I start at JS-12, will I ever bump up to JS-13?

Anyone else kind of bored clerking? I liked law school and thought I liked research and writing, but so far this district court clerkship has been pretty boring—lots of state law issues that are poorly briefed. Though to be fair, most of my time has been spent on one big case that I’m 99% sure is going to settle but not until the eve of trial bc that’s plaintiff’s counsel’s m.o.; so my work resolving the insane number of SJ and Daubert motions seems like a waste of my time.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to conduct the post-clerkship job search if the goal is big law? I am coming from a state appellate clerkship in a major market.
