If it were me I would try to raise it to the manager directly, if you think you can. If not or if that fails to improve things, I would talk to the PPMD on the account. Becoming a manager doesn’t require knowing how to manage people, but if this manager is treating everyone like this then that could turn into a retention issue for the firm and it’s best that the PPMD is aware of it.
Been through this. I was patient until … the “wannabe manager” crossed a line. Then, I learned it wasn’t just me. I was also kindly direct with this person and established how I expected to be treated. Well … after they crossed the line, I escalated with notes of offenses. It was handled.
As a seasoned manager, I agree with the other comments. Sometimes we don’t know what we are doing that isn’t received well! I’d talk with your manager openly and give him/her a chance to change.
