Have an offer for a remote SDR role - base is $55k. $110k OTE, 2500 shares option/ year, no 401k match for now. Target is 10-12 qualified leads to AE each month. Does this sound standard for the market? What questions do I need to ask? Been in sales a few years but not as structured as the SDR/AE structure that seems to be gaining popularity. Anything helps! Probably the best question to ask here tbh

Make sure you ask how many reps hit quota or what percent. Then understand the commission plan and if it’s reasonable. Sounds pretty standard for the most part - id try to understand the development structure or milestones you need to hit to get to AE and if they expect any layoffs in the next 12 months given the market.

If the team members are not hitting this or only hit it occasionally then that would be a red flag to watch out for. This suspiciously sounds like my old SDR role haha but I could be wrong

10-12? Is it 10 or is it 12? Already a red flag for me that they can't give you a solid number. 10 a month is doable but the question is - how is the sales enablement? Do they use a tool to help with productivity?

Top SDRs oftentimes don't sound like traditional salespeople when cold calling. They use a very casual voice tone.

Here are a few tips:

1. Avoid upward inflections at the end of sentences. This makes it sound like everything you ask is a question
2. Slow down and eliminate buzzwords. Speaking fast makes you sound nervous and less confident
3. Avoid reading from a script - internalize your message and put it into your own works so you sound like YOU!
