Hello, i have an opportunity to join a quantitative analyst position in trading room. Id like to know whether or not you can do whatever you want after that ( everyone keep saying me that). I have a fear that it constraints me into sell side. I am not really sure of which path Id like to go to within the next 5 y. ( I am not talking about switching into m&a/pe position)

Landed a role in a new industry in which I don’t have much experience but finally exiting out of consulting. I am a bit apprehensive about this change and the new role. Any tips or resources that helped others do well in a new role?

What should I do in a scenario where I was hired (12+ years) with far less salary than(~20% less) than other members (4+ experience) in team and asked to take 80% of team's responsibilities. The hiring manager low balled me sensing that I am in dire need of that job and now I am stuck for 2 years now. The company is a big shot but I am literally getting paid less than what I used to make 10 years ago. Should I try to move within or look outside?

So as a 30ish yo with a government/PE/tech background and CIPM/CIPP… I’m finding privacy work is just much easier and interesting than other kinds, but still pays plenty well.

Is it too late/inadvisable to go to law school to specifically aim for privacy work?

I just find some firms are unwilling to entertain the idea that anyone but a lawyer has anything relevant to contribute in this space…

I am an Senior iOS developer. YOE is 8.5. Currently getting 13 LPA. Getting promotion in a month with 25 to 30 percent hike which comes nearly 16.8 LPA. Currently an analyst-level consultant working with a client that has an investment banking division. Since I have access to internal systems, could I reach out to bankers for networking from within using those systems? Or would that be too aggressive? lol

Interesting all the noise about these PPT, my take:

The pandemic took all the upside of an IB analyst life (client meetings in person, fancy trips, suit up, worshiped at networking events) and left all the juniors with the downside (long hours, monkey-like type of job, aggressive work environment).

Not that the complaints are not sort of legitimate but you may need to revise the decision-making process that led you to accept a return offer. Specially if you were looking for less hours.
