Hey Big 4 people, what other firms (besides MBB or a different Big 4 firm) do you consider equal or more ideal firms to work for?

A recruiter at another B4 gave me a number much lower than what I’m currently making. Should I tell them how much im making now, which is admittantly at the very top of the SC band, or counter with a range that’s more than I’m making? I hesitate to just throw out current salary + 20% bc I’d be asking for almost $190k for a SC role and I know that would be quite a huge ask for a SC @ B4, even for tech

Wondering how much a Partner makes in Big 4 consulting? Is there really that big of a difference at the Partner level compared to MBB (starting 7 figure)?

I’m a senior in advisory at a B4 firm. I’m aiming for partner, but secretly would like to be part of firm leadership. Is there anything I should do differently on my way up the ladder?

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

Tier 2 to MBB fish... How has recruiting for other jobs compare at the two firms?

M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.
