Hi all, I had 2 interview rounds via HireVue with Deloitte recently. After those interviews, I received an email to complete a background check through First Advantage for a role based in San Jose, California.

I wanted to check if anyone knows whether Deloitte typically initiates the background check only after the final interview, or if there could still be additional rounds left before the offer stage?

My goal with law school was big law. I graduated top 30% at a T50, are my chances at Big Law done?

I have mid-size firm offers, but it appears that significant big law hiring is done.

Does anyone have any suggestions for picking a firm that will get me there?

Do large law firms really recieve enough applications for a position that they cannot follow up when someone reaches out to check on thier application? I get that if you have to reach out, they probably weren't interested anyways, I'm just curious why there is a practice of just leaving applicants in the wind. And also, how does one go about finding out why they were rejected, if thier qualifications are "impressive"?

Was staffed at Facebook for > 1 year and found a position in an org I worked with frequently. I had a good relationship with one of the clients but I’m hesitant to reach out for a referral as I don’t want it to jeopardize my current job. Thoughts? Should I look for someone else to refer me?

Have an interview soon with a company I'm not really interested in and just want to start my weekend...

Have an offer from a dream company but I'll need to go in at a lower level. Knowing that I can bring a lot of value to the company (read- I know my worth), I negotiated with the hiring manager to have a level/comp review 6 months after employment. If I hit all my goals (ie, prove myself) within that time frame, I'll get a promotion and salary adjustment.
QUESTIONS:
Should this be in writing in the offer letter?
How detailed should it be? I assume I won't know what goals to set till I start...

About to join KGS in a month or so in Deal Advisory Strategy team as a Consultant, wanted to know if the role is a front end (client facing) role or is it a backend role?

Does anyone have ideas on how to navigate a smaller team environment when everyone’s roles seem to be stretched (hiring for additional people has been taking a while, not sure why). The stress causes some tension and that’s probably not great for the overall morale of the company long-term. I try to ignore and just stay focused on what I need to do yet sometimes proves challenging. I worry it might affect my professional/career growth. Thoughts on this would be helpful, thanks!

Hello, after doing some research I believe I’m being underpaid. About 4 months ago HR did a market analysis for my role. They bumped my salary for about $2k. I’m a mid-level Executive assistant with 6 years of experience and currently supporting 5 executives at a fortune 50 company. One C level and 4 Vice Presidents. I’m currently making $61,000 with bonus included. Based on my research I should at least be making $71,400. I have a check in with my boss tomorrow and I am asking for a raise.
