Ex-kpmg employee here so can’t post in that bowl but does anyone here know how pension plan works? I was vested based on time with firm but does the money stay there til retirement or can you request lump sum payout and invest it how you want? Thanks!
Going up for “early” promo to M after 2 years as SC (considered early since I do not have an MBA). Was on maternity leave so technically 1.5 yrs but have great track record in M role...
Is it worth making a DIY mask or not? Physicians and other healthcare practitioners say it's not worth wearing one. The rocket scientist in the link argues it is better than nothing. https://smartairfilters.com/en/blog/best-materials-make-diy-face-mask-virus/
Agonizing over whether to take 6 weeks of unpaid maternity leave. My son is 4.5mos old, so I’ve been home awhile. We can swing it financially, but would have to dip into savings. Opp cost is high...
What does everyone do when they max out their 401k AND IRA? Taxable investment account? Something else?
Increased per diem rates whaaaaaa
Hi, people who have switched companies have you rolled your 401k to your new company or have you found a low fee platform to roll it to personally?
What is your age and how much do you have saved across accounts? How much do you think you need to have saved to retire and at what age do you plan to retire?
After I resign can I use some of my 401k to buy real estate/land outside the US and transfer the remaining with the 401k of the new firm?
How do you ladies invest (outside of 401k/employee stock purchase plan - already maxing those out!)/how have your investments done? Just finished my first year of work and have a stupid amount just sitting in my savings account that I know I need to invest ASAP! Not sure where to start! Thank you!
Thoughts on this mix? I'm 28. This is for my 401K Investing 5% to get employer match.. What do you think: 30% International stock index fund, 20 % S & P 500 index fund, and 50% small/mid cap index fund?
What is the salary at Guidehouse and Deloitte or other firms for a Senior Consultant in healthcare?
Hi I am having some trouble on choosing between Deloitte and PwC for a 2022 winter internship. Some pros for Deloitte include being the largest firm, and the promotion to senior being 2 years opposed to 3 at PwC. Additionally, Deloitte offers a pension and has Deloitte university. The pros of PwC include a gym in the office and a younger work force. They also give me much less of a “corporate” feel and seem to offer more flexibility. I’m wondering if anyone could give me any advice on deciding?
I am 24 years old and the advice I have been given is to max out my IRA and 401k before investing into a taxable brokerage account. If I do not plan on working until I am 59 1/2, is this sound advice since there is a 10% penalty of early withdrawals for both accounts?
What’s the salary range for managing director at Navigant or FTI consulting in healthcare.
Robinhood or vanguard for a personal investment account? 23, have ~15k in savings, ~20k in 401k, ~5k in Roth IRA, and currently ~12k in robinhood. Want to put more in investments but have heard vanguard is better for someone like me?
Hi All, Can anyone tell about the components involved in EY CTC? Does it includes insurance, gratuity? What are the perks and benefits of EY?
What is best thing to do. $120K joint savings, $400K 401k, no debt. Rent apartment $1,600 total each month. Combined after rent $12,500 take home per month. Worth buying a house or keep saving/ putting more more in market?
I’m a Army reservist and retiring In a few years. Will be getting healthcare at age 60 for the rest of my life. Does it make sense to put money in a HSA?
Has anyone gone on maternity or paternity leave while going up for promotion in the same year that is willing to share story or any impact?
Tips on studying for the CFE?
WFH with a kid is making me less productive, so I end up working 30% longer hours to make up for it. But the longer I work, I get diminishing returns in productivity, so I have to work longer still. At this point, my mental stamina is just worn out. How do I fix this?
If anything, I think this health crisis is going to lead to many changes in education...agreed?
The hustle culture is killing me. Working until midnight everyday with no salary raise this year. Is it time to move? Just heard Deloitte people are getting raise this year.
For those of you who have been laid off, what do your days look like? Someone told me to expect 3-4 months at LEAST before finding another job
I’m about to have an interview.. It’s for python and I am not prepared. I have 3 hours, what should I focus on? I know I definitely should have studied more but I have been having really bad nerves and stressing out all day so I would appreciate some positivity and constructive advice!
I am 30 and just got promoted to Senior manager. I think I am doing well but I feel I am driven more by pessimism, imposter syndrome, and fear of getting fired as opposed to a positive mindset and the desire to thrive in my career. I feel like I am suffering from some sort of a mental issue but wanted to throw it out here and get some advice to deal with this from the fishbowl fam as opposed to going to therapy. Thanks in advance for your responses!
Any ACCA professionals out there?
Finally on a local project! ...but have to pay for parking. Definitely thought that was something we could expense at all client sites regardless of location 🤦♀️
Heard Deloitte will start adjusting salary by city starting next year....will they be adjusting people down if they are currently overpaid (relatively)?
Looking to Connect with special educators in my first post. I am SPED with behavioral specialization in Elementary (full inclusion) - how about you?
I want to buy a $600 ticket but only have 40,000 Amex points. What’s my best option? Could I use points but have an Amex charge of $200? Not 100% sure how that works or f it messes with expenses
Can I expect upgrades to Delta comfort with gold or platinum medallion? What about first? Frequently fly between major delta hubs. Would getting a delta credit card help?
Anyone actually keep their PHR active? I got my cert in 2013 and have done nothing since.
👩👧 Anyone lost their mother when they were young? I’m in my mid 30s, and the older I get, the harder it feels (counter intuitively) ➡️
Should I be concerned? I found out that my billable rate is significantly less than my peers due to heavy client discount. Does this affect career growth at all?
