Currently an engineer in MCOL area with 4 years experience (post graduating, not counting experience before/during college and large side gigs). I have a BS/MS/PhD in engineering and an MBA in business analytics. Currently making 100k as an engineer IV. As an engineer with a functional knowledge (but no former training) in IT and data analytics, what are the best avenues to get to 200k without changing fields and starting at an entry level position (or moving to a HCOL area)?

I’m a LCSW, have been working in mental health for 10 years, and have a job that enables HRSA to pay off my student loans. I really want to go back to medical school to be a psychiatrist. I’d like to pay my student loans off before taking on more debt but worry I will be way too old to go back since I already feel way too old at 38 to do it. I am being tapped to translate documents at work. I’ve done spot translation audits, and 1 larger Quality assurance document earlier this year, but was recently contacted about a potential large-scale translation initiative for next year.
