I think you don’t really know this unless you have been in the trenches yourself. Same with bankers I guess.
I also had the opinion „nobody can work until 2, it is physically impossible“ until I’ve did one DD with similar lifestyle.
You are just in a different zone, or at least I was back then. Mix of adrenaline and anxiety which seriously never made me tired during the day.
I was more tired working on a boring project where I clocked out everyday at 8-9.

It isn’t every day, that is how
It has become an everyday habit for people that enjoy it. My queen, I take my work very seriously and I’ll go extra mile to make my boss happy.😊
I bet it’s easier when you are a bot.

Because I want to keep my job to pay my mortgage. That’s it.
Indeed it is. Now if you could please let the Fed know that it’s time to cut rates I might be able to find something better
Agree with the other responses. First of all, our hours are overblown. Most days, it’s 11pm to 12am that we log off. In 2 years, I’ve probably worked later than 2am less than 20 days (if I had to estimate).
On those rarer post-2am nights, staying up usually isn’t an issue because you’re so stressed and you’re constantly getting pinged from team mates. Sleeping simply isn’t an option.
In terms of the next morning, sometimes I’ll start a bit late. So like, if I’m working until 3:30am, starting at 9:30am will still give me 6-hours of sleep. If I’m anticipating another late night, I might block off 30-minutes on my calendar mid-day to take a nap (something we’re allowed to do — we call them NCCs or “non-client commitments”).
Other options I’ve done before is to skip lunch or dinner to sleep 30 minutes instead. Often, when I’m sleep deprived and stressed, I lose my appetite, so it’s no big deal. There are some health benefits to intermittent fasting as well.
Tell me you have the Stockholm syndrome without telling me you have the Stockholm syndrome 🥲
For me or comes in seasons... let's say 3-5mo of timelessness, then some sort of lull where if possible I try to leverage pto and do 4days a week. I'm 9yrs in consulting and have learned to lean HARD into recharging anytime when your off the gas pedal.
The fools are not even compensated well enough 😂
