How did you make friends when you moved here?

Anybody taught “A Long Walk to Water” for 6th grade? We just adopted it and I need some suggestions to get my kids to understand the whole new culture it introduces to them.

I’m happy with my relationship but the thing is I never really have a spark with the girl. Can someone relate or explain? I’m not sure if I should keep doing this. Maybe I’m just in an comfort zone now?

My gf and me call each other everytime we have free time. However lately she seems disinterested in phone time. She never initiates calls anymore and she tells me she wants to hang up in the middle of the day and not right before bedtime. We live a 4 hour drive apart. And I told her this is like living together from a distance, because I put her on the house speakers. What can I do to keep her engaged?

My family cat that I grew up with got put down yesterday and I have sobbing in between meetings. None of my friends are pet people so they don’t get the sadness. Just saying it somewhere to feel better.

How do you deal with your boyfriend still being friends with someone he slept with before? Kind of bothers me but not sure if it’s normal....

Hi i lost majority of my money in the stock market. I married and promised my family that I will not make the mistake I made 7 years ago. Gambling. Is this an addiction I have. I keep selling stocks and taking loses buying other stock hoping it will recover but never did and sell again taking loses and buy again. It now sink in to me. I borrow personal loan hoping that the market will do k and I pay it back but I even lost that. I can't stop crying that I hurt the one I love the most my family.

I love living in Miami, but have found it incredibly difficult to make friends. I had a thriving social life/ friend group in Chicago. Anyone else finding it hard to build friendships here?

Denver culture (and suburb areas): interested to know how easy is it to make friends here. Both husband and I are late-30s, early 40s with a kid going into middle school. How do you and your partner (married or not married) split financials?

My father has been very aggressive and keeps on creating quarrel like situations at home day in and day out.
I care for him a lot. However, i have tried both calm and aggressive tones during quarrels, but it also didn't help.
Now it's becoming unbearable to keep on getting involved with his quarrels over little things... considering this scenario I am also not proceeding with matrimonial process as not sure how the girl will handle this

Do you share details about raises/bonuses/other financial gains with friends or do you keep it to yourself? I have a few friends who will tell me everything from how much money they make to how much their husband spent on them for their bdays to how much their parents make?? To me that feels like bragging/being arrogant. It’s also the way they say it, feels very much like seeking validation to me.

Anyone with anxious attachment tendencies? Going through a breakup and I keep thinking about how I pushed him away and then am down on myself, replaying memories in my mind. At the end of the day, I think we were a bad match from the beginning and misaligned, but so hard not to beat myself over my anxious attachment during my relationship

I’m (early30s) about 8 months into a relationship with a 40m. Things are wonderful in every aspect, but he is absolutely atrocious with his finances. I felt it becoming an issue about two months ago. 4 year-old pinches kids ears to the point of bleeding/laughs when they cry. We have tried everything; time out, safe space, replacement behaviors, telling him to touch gentle. At my wits end!!!

I have a young student with CVI and extremely limited mobility. She is able to vocalize but not speak. However, I’ve seen her response and mannerisms change (positively) in the presence of parents and siblings which leads me to believe that she is cognizant enough to possible use a communication device.
