Virtual team building ideas?
I have been a data analyst for three years. I’ve got advanced Excel skills and R Programming skills, intermediate SQL skills and recently completed Datacamp’s intermediate Python course. My goal is to become a Data Scientist. Am I ready/experienced enough to go for the Data Science role or should I be looking at Junior Data Scientist/Senior Data Analyst roles? All my experience is in the energy industry looking at data on a national (GB) balancing level Databricks Shell Google Amazon Glassdoor

If all these people are responding negatively to you, maybe it’s your management style and not them.
Try delivering criticism more constructively. Improve your soft skills
I agree sounds you are a manager not a leader.
The only person you can control in that equation is you.
Ask what their preferred coaching style isis. Align that your job is to be their advocate and to help them navigate the system.
I mean, on the off-chance that every person in there is a drama queen and it's not you, my personal mantra is "your feelings aren't my problem". They want to be dramatic about reasonable feedback? As long as they do their jobs better, then let them be dramatic. They're being aggro? Disengage or if it's affecting your work capabilities, escalate. Don't let yourself be bullied but it might also help to figure out a way to talk to them so they don't get that way. Good luck.
Oh I have the best story. It couldn’t take this anymore. So I created a community-building-trust-hand-holding-dancing-in-the-rain-rabbits-and-unicorns call. It went well. They’re now my best friends

Who? Hallucinations?
I'm hoping you only have a few of these "banes" to deal with, otherwise you might want to listen to Raylan Givens of the Justified TV series: "You run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. You run into assholes all day, you're the asshole." You asked how I handle prickly personalities, so here it is. Usually something like "What's your problem? Why are you acting like that? Why do you think you are so important that I would focus my precious energy on making your life a living hell?" You see, I used to be the most prickly person in the office before the new guy got here. It's not a competition or anything, but I think I'm regaining ground.
I would ask them how you can assist them and try to genuinely know their roadblocks. Building a rapport is important before giving feedback, especially to sensitive people.
That’s the world we’re living in baby. Gotta love it.
