Fired or laid off?
For the second- if you notice things getting slow and/or see a lot of meetings between department heads and finance.
If other people are swamped but you aren’t given new assignments that take more than a day or two.
If you start having to figure out what to put on your time sheet.
If the creative managers and CDs are really nice to you but don’t spend much time around you.
Sorry, it sucks. But you will find other ways to make money, even if they’re not your dream gig, you’ll learn a ton about the industry and other agencies and you’ll be stronger because you won’t be afraid of losing your job
If your boss books you at 9PM for a meeting at 10AM the next morning to discuss “assignments given the current workload”, but things have been quite slow recently... yeah, you’re a goner.

Gut feeling. If you have it, start lining up your next gig
1/ Your workload is light-on.
2/ Your CD avoids you like the plague.
3/ You finally catch your CDs eye and it feels like they are looking at a dead man.
4/ People in your group are busy.
6/ You get an email titled "Catchup"
7/ Finally, you arrive at the meeting and the CD is sitting in the room with the CFO.
Always HR...
Intentional distancing from your managers/leadership.
When your direct manager says, “Can you come to into this conference room to talk?” Once to tell me that they wanted to hire me full time. The other time was to lay me off.
This thread gives me disturbance😥😥
Meetings you’re in get moved to another day. Except you aren’t invited and the people who know it’s going down don’t tell you.

I agree with trusting your gut. Of course, if you also received a bad performance review in the past year - that’s their documentation for HR/legal. It’s not that you can’t improve, but...

OMG. Insight!
The calendar invite says "Catch up" and the room is on another floor.
