I’ve been trying to get into the top tier Associate Product Marketing Manager position Google for some time now for just an interview and I feel like business majors somehow have such a stronger chance in getting interviewed especially my business school and I feel really discouraged as an Econ Major and I have a lot of marketing experience that I’ve built over the years. Are there any non-business majors in the tech realm in non technical positions at Google that can advise me?
Bain & Company I’m a PhD student looking to start in consulting and am looking to connect with other PhD/ADP consultants that went into consulting to learn more about the experience and how to prep for case interviews coming from a non-business background. Especially looking for advice on McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, and Bain & Company
JPMorgan Chase Did a first round interview for a senior level position at JP Morgan.. hiring manager said I should receive a call back within a couple of weeks.. been over a month.. no intimation post that.. the HR in charge of hiring or scheduling haven’t replied to my emails on what comes next and haven’t scheduled anything. So should I consider this as a dead end ? Does this generally happen at JP? Feels weird that I have been ghosted after what I felt was a very good interview.. Was a good fit too.JPMorgan Chase

I totally get it because I have been there myself. Looking for a job is a full time job within itself if you ask me. Or at least it feels that way. The only advice I can give you is to continue to stay focused on what you're looking for and to just keep looking and applying. Hopefully your time will come. I wish you the best of luck in your search and I hope you find something soon
Definitely a full time job looking for a full time job!
I have Faith in my Lord. He knows better than I do, where I need to work.
Amen 🙏🏾👏🏾
I can completely and fully empathize on what you are currently going through. I am also in the exact same boat as you are right now. I updated resume's and it seems I get interviews, yet no job offers. I have also gone out of my comfort zone to apply to all types of jobs including entry level and jobs I have never worked before. Please try to keep your head up, I know its hard trust me. I have to say this to myself as well. You are not broken or the problem, Right now many ghost jobs and scams are happening. They have been for awhile now, but I feel like they have gotten worst. Many companies now have both an internal and external hiring freezes going on. I never thought that having too much experience and a BS degree could actually hurt your chances on getting hired. Please keep your head up and keep trying. I know its difficult and you are going to have down and low days and that is normal. Huge hugs to you and please keep on going.
Back at, you thank you so much appreciate you 🤍🌹I do hope you and I find something soon. 💕
I am sorry to hear that you're going through these tough times. This seems to be the story for many of us including myself. I would suggest applying to health care position at nursing homes, city or state you live in, non-profit organizations. Think outside the box and join association related to your career. Also go back to your career advisor where you obtain your certificate and see if they can assist. It's all about networking with the right people. I hope this helps.
Yes it helps, thank you so much for the advice. 🤍🌹
I’m in the same boat
Sorry to that, I definitely pray you and I find our work home soon. Including great work culture 💕👌🏾
I feel you. I have never experience this before. I have applied to a lot of positions. I would get the interview. No offer yet, I would like to stay in the medical field.
You’re not alone a lot of people are going through the same thing! It may be time for you to branch out on your own journey! Push through it because it’s important to remember this too shall pass! Some of my colleagues have left the profession and the country as well!!
Thank you so much, and yes I will keep pushing on 🤍🌹

I understand your frustration! Just keep your head up, you WILL find something that’s worth all the trouble you’ve had.

You’re very welcome!
I feel the same as you do. I have 30 yrs of nsg and got let go after my FMLA ran out. The clinics I've applied to look at me, I feel like, as an older woman that is unable to do the job. . Its really depressing being looked at like that, especially when I know I will do a great job. I have finally found a job. Its not exactly where I want to be but it is a very nice facility. Im grateful they gave me a job.
Aww 💕I’m so happy you found something, especially with it being great culture. Honestly I’d rather have great culture over great pay any day because then you know it’ll be long term stability. I too have been applying for jobs that aren’t paying to well and don’t have the schedule I desire but I’m trying to keep my skills fresh. I still haven’t found anything yet, but I just recently been offered several interviews so I feel it’s coming. 🤍🙏🏾🌹
I take it in chunks. I apply to anything of resonable interest, and once ive exhausted that list, i take a break.
I often will work a supplemental job while waiting for a new opportunity though. For example, i am currently working with a medical staffing agency and a gas station while hoping to hear back from a hospital.
If I hear back from the hospital I'll choose a supplemental job to cut.
