I’m so sorry. I have been there before too 🫶🏼 I would recommend talking with your doctor about how soon you can expect to get relief from your medication.
4 to 6 weeks is the norm, based on friends of mine. I take a small dose of Zoloft. After 3 weeks or so, I started feeling a difference and then, a week later, bam. I was 57 years old and never realized that my lifelong anxiety wasn't what everyone else experienced.
So strange that we all just thought this is how we’re supposed to feel.
About 4-6 weeks, but I started feeling it sooner than that. Not sure if it was placebo
3 weeks are the minimum but often you have to try multiple medications. Even then newer research is showing SSRIs are not long term solutions (I was on one for 10 years completely stopped working I had a break down). I turned to being treated at a ketamine clinic. It works. I’m not a recreational drug user and my therapist had been wanting me to go for years. So it was that or suicide. I highly recommend it. It’s been shown that even one treatment can walk you back from the edge.
Am I still trying to leave the law after 20 years yes. But like you I’m trying to make it a certain period of time before I go/ I wish you the best of luck. Also therapy has been proven to be more successful than SSRIs I recommend CBT.
