Today i called HR and they said manager has not provided any update on my application. Should i wait for the offer letter or look opportunity in another organisation? Deloitte Deloitte India

For a position in NYC when I lived in DC, I had a call with the recruiter, then she said she would schedule phone interviews with several of the Art CDs. In a moment of desperation/feeling a little ballsy, I said “I’d rather come in person, would next week work?”
Luckily, I guess they liked that. Took a train up, interviewed with 4 CDs in person, then got the offer the next day.
Until about 5 years ago, 99% of the time I had no more than one interview, in-person with the CD/ECD before getting the offer. No phone calls with recruiters beyond "ECD liked your book and wants to meet". Crispin was the first to put me through the speed-dating interview process; a dozen or more interviews with each team going up through the ranks ending at Bogusky. I didn't get that one, though. Then Goodby did the same, but over two days, and I got that one. Now it's very fashionable to talk to 4+ people for every single opening, which is really a cop-out disguised as teamwork. I'm seriously considering letting recruiters know from the outset that I won't do more than three interviews. Or maybe charge them for my time; that's funny I'm totally going to send a bill to agencies who waste my time and don't hire me.

Five interviews. One phone and four in person.
6: recruiter, hiring manager, technical, team, reps from other teams, hiring manager again

Before getting the offer, I had 3 interviews. 1st, phone screen with HR, 2nd, 1.5 hr google meet (45 min with my now boss, 45 min with two senior professionals on my creative team), 3rd in-office (social distanced) with the same group in my 2nd i-view. No stupid homework assignment or hoops.
1, skipped the phone interview bc referred by someone already on the team
To go freelance the only interview you have to nail is the exit interview.
What do you mean by this?

I’ve done anywhere from 1-5 for a job.
4. Each lasting over an hour on different days in the same week. Then 2 days later got the offer and started 2 days after that. Very quick!
3-5 hard to remember lots of hurdles
I had 13 in-person interviews for a mid-level production position. I started running out of things to talk about and outfits to wear, but stuck with it because I really wanted a new job, and really really wanted this one. Still, it’s not like I’m an ECD or C-level employee haha

Droga 5 - it’s just that once you have built a reputation over many many years, you have strong endorsements and experience speaks for itself.
