Microsoft is hiring an account executive and I’m really interested in the role. I have B2B sales experience in a different industry, but my skills include lead generation, prospecting, account management, negotiating, etc (all within the C Suite and other decision makers).
Would appreciate knowing if this is something I have a shot at with no tech sales experience and what I could expect for promotional opportunities and compensation.
Thanks for the help!

My guess is 200,000. Taxes and cost of lemonade and there are astronomical. Are you sure you want to do this?!
About $100,000 worth, give or take
Wow you weren’t kidding at 200. Insane
Here’s San Fran vs Dallas. Adjust it to the correct cities and salary and then factor in how much taxes will take.

I doubt $200k. I'm a third senior manager in the Bay Area and I make just under 200k. I would have a hard time believing my peer in Dallas makes $100k. They probably make $120-130k.
Good catch, I read the OP wrong
I just made this move and I’d say about 40% is what you should be looking for to maintain your standard. 150 is minimum that I’d look for though as that gives you a slight raise to help compensate for moving jobs and the cost of moving in general. All said and done I spent around 10k to move.
Purely translation of cost of living: easy to calculate. Difference in ideology, policies of stare governments, and cultures: immeasurable. If p dub offered triple my salary I don’t think I’d move to Cali, especially Bay Area.
I don't have an exact figure, but you're going to need a significant bump. Bay Area is arguably the most expensive city in the United States (you could make the argument for New York). I'd just be aware that you are probably going to get sticker shock if you haven't lived in a city like this before.
Bay area, 200, easy. Anywhere else 150 should be fine.
Does this bay area mean San Francisco or the entire strip from San Fran to San Jose? I've been a couple times but not understood if the entire thing is bay area.
Living in Oakland or somewhere east bay would be much cheaper. SF rents have dropped a ton since March though so now is a good time to get in
