USI Insurance brokerage and consulting - thoughts? A recruiter reached out to me via linked in and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this company. They seem to have decent reviews on Glassdoor but I was hoping to get more insight into workload and comp. Thanks in advance! USI

If you wait until you feel like you’re ready, you will hold yourself back. Fear of failure is powerful and if we’re not careful comfort becomes our aim rather than growth.
Go for the promotion as many times as it takes. And after that go for the next one and the next one. You’ve got this.
Maybe ask your manager about job shadowing with a person in the position that you are looking at? That way you can see firsthand what they actually do. Or just talk to your manager about your goals in wanting to move up. They may have some insight in a plan that could get your ready but technically and mentally for the next role. Who knows they might feel like you are already at the place to move up!
I know when I was a UA, moving up was a struggle because the positions simply didn't exist. I would have had to move over to Underwriting instead of UA Management. That being said, I agree that your best move is to discuss your goals with your manager. I'd also keep an open mind on where you want to be promoted, Don't be too stubborn about sticking with a specific group. I think it's more important, especially early on, to simply get the experience and move to a preferred group later on if there's an opening.
