How worth is it to move from T2 to MBB? Not sure if I want to do consulting long term

Depends on what you mean by long term. If you can spend 3+ years you will be better off. If you are thinking of less than 2 years, you will still be fine but no better than where you can get to from your present position.

Depends on where you want to exit

Made the move myself.

Depends on a lot (as always). What level are you at (YOE)? How much longer do you want to stay? How much do you like LEK?

F

Depends. What do u want out of it. T2s are very well regarded as it is.

Currently contemplating the same thing in a separate post.
It seems like:
- total comp: similar
- career trajectory chances: slightly slower
- WLB: worse
Only upsides might be brand and slightly more interesting projects.

Contemplating a career switch into consulting as I want to go non-technical. I don't want to pay 250k for ivy league MBA. I have a MS in computer engg from a top 5 engineering school. 7YOE at a top 3 semiconductor as ML/AI engineer.

I can get 300+ maybe up to 400-450k TC in FAANG but not liking technical stuff anymore.

Do you think aiming for MBB for a Management Consulting[tech domain] role is a stretch given I have no consulting background? What kind of compensation can I expect?

1. I enjoy the people management more than individual contributor stuff. What career paths do you see in our industry for people who are managing support engineering teams?

My remit quadrupled+ in a recent re-org with no increase in pay/promotion, my new director is new to the company and was zero help, and I was passed over for recent promotion during the comp cycle. The new director essentially began shutting me down any time I ask for clarity in my career progression. Now they have taken credit for the project I’ve been building over the past year+ without giving me props whatsoever to higher ups. What is the best plan of action here?

I’ve been in inside/outside roles 7+ yrs in Real Estate & have led sales/development on large residential developments for luxury new construction & assist buyers, sellers, investors. Now both my kids are in school FT I don’t need flex hours & prefer not to work weekends. I’d like to be in AE role where I can build a career I’m proud of with more stability. But it seems like the only path to be an AE is through the SDR route. Any ideas on companies open to non SaaS work history in Chicagoland?

Hey, I’ve been working at an agency for 10 months. Tbh the low entry level salary in marketing is getting to me. I live in a high cost of living city. I hate having to work from 9-6, sometimes skipping lunch(not paid for lunch hour), and working overtime for no over time pay. Is it worth sticking it out or switching fields? I didn’t have the best childhood and want to be self sustainable faster. I’m not a quitter but my mental health is not in a good place. Would like some advice. Thanks!

Are there any fully remote lawfirms, ie you don't have to live in the state they have offices? I recently left a large lawfirm to go in-house which came with a huge paycut that is not going to be sustainable long term, but needed a remote position to be able to move. I'd like to keep my current job part-time but get back in a lawfirm too.

Some Business Intelligence/Analyst roles are very data heavy. I wonder why these roles do not have the term “data” in them, and wonder if it’s to keep the salary lower than it should be.
