Hi, did anybody ever experience wrong tax calculations by JPMC Payroll/tax team ? Or is there any specific month where they deduct more tax. Huge amount of tax deduction is done for Oct payout. From my CA’s calculation the amount deducted by JPMC team looks wrong. Anybody experienced this?

Depending on your tolerance for homelessness (and issues that come with it ex crime, drug use, needles on the street, etc) , neighborhoods in and near downtown may not be ones you choose. I would definitely recommend visiting the neighborhoods multiple times (if you can) over multiple weeks to get a better feel. Streets and areas are periodically temporarily cleared, so it is helpful to visit more than once to get a better feel.
Here are my 2 cents:
-Look at Lower Queen Anne, it's a nicer quiet area that's very walkable and safe. Walking from LQA to Downtown would take some time but biking would be really feasible.
-South Lake Union (SLU) has a very sterile, Amazon feel (not really my cup of tea)
-Belltown is a bit too close to the market and tourist traps / activities for me
-Certain parts of Cap Hill are pretty loud & active during non pandemic times
Super helpful, thank you!
My thought: expand your house hunt beyond downtown, and buy him an electric bike with the money you save. Downtown has been pretty decimated and isn’t anywhere you’d want to live right now.
Agree with what PwC said. First Hill is another area very easily walkable to downtown. It’s close to Cap hill which is nice for nightlife, but not cap hill itself which has (even worse) homeless situation. Lower QA is nice, but a little far, Belltown is a little touristy, and south lake Union is Amazon everywhere
Currently in first hill and just a heads up that it is the healthcare center of Seattle. Tons of hospitals which means tons of sirens and ambulances.
