I am a first year manager working in a M&A post deal implementation/ consulting role. What skillset should I work on to transition to Corp Dev?

I have 7 YOE and applied for a position that is L4. I feel as if I’m overqualified for the position, but the Recruiter told me that when they say L4, they are actually looking for someone with 6+ years of experience. Is this true? I feel like I should be looking at L5 with my experience

Is it a good idea to resign first from current company and start searching for another job because my notice period is for 3 months and most companies won’t wait for you for 3 months.. Can anyone help me wrap my head around this post Series C start-up equity offer? It’s an IP director position, the the base is $170 with 10% bonus (both lower than I was expecting). There’s also an equity component: 0.15% of current fully diluted equity. This equates to about 30000 shares at a strike price of $2. They also indicate the preferred stock price is $6 and preferred stock equity is $188k (whatever that means). They are in the middle of a new financing and valuation round.

Anyone here that has exited to a retail mortgage or lending strategic in a Corp Dev / M&A role? Would like to hear experiences on work products, culture, etc.
