I am not trying to shame anyone, but I think being honest with yourself is an important step in building better financial habits. For me, this meant admitting that a lot of my irresponsible purchases stemmed from insecurity and a need to impress others. Also, I did have time to make my own meals, and I was only making excuses to buy
takeout out of laziness. What's something you had to come to terms with to fix your habits?

First of all I would congratulate you that you admit that you are making excuses due to laziness. It requires strength to admit.
I think you can break that pattern of laziness but putting some good habits, starting with small one.
Nothing is impossible. It may take time but it can be done. And at the same time you will be able to secure your pocket.
By the way no body got wealthy by saving.

The last owner bought for 35k like 15 years ago 😩 but hoping buying and holding for a few years will give a equal or greater returns over the long run.

NYC office: NYC tax on paycheck, easier commute, possibly higher pay?

Interesting. Let’s see if the uptick In cases continues to drive an uptick in hospitalizations and then in fatalities. Depends on how many of the cases are incidental or in very young people not prone to severe cases. But either way, look at the hospital capacity utilization figures! This is the untold story. Were we bending the curve to avoid unnecessary deaths due to overcrowded hospitals, or were we bending the curve to buy time for treatments and vaccine, or just to slow fatalities?

We have done the math and I know we can afford much more but he doesn’t want to buy more than a 400K home. I’m almost positive we can afford 500K and be more than ok. But then he starts to talk about how much kids cost and how we will be house poor and we won’t be able to afford kids. 🤔 Am I insane??
