I applied for a position and am invited to an informational interview. My general understanding is that informationals are networking chat. In this case, should I expect a behavioral interview? Help

I mean... prepare for a real interview and if it’s not one you’re fine. Don’t prepare but it turns out to be a real interview and you’re screwed.

Kinda seems like an obvious answer. Prepare for an interview and be happy if it’s more chill than that

I agree on preparing! I should have clarified- I am more concerned in what to expect in type of potential questions, e.g., cases, behavioral, etc. Thanks for all responses thus far

What is the firm?
Maybe we can help better then.

I would prepare to speak your resume and be ready to ask some meaningful questions

I see a lot of Jr. Level folks (myself included) in this bowl asking about certain finance exit opps like MM IB and PE etc.

At some point is the comp that much better?

From Big4 Transparency: S1/MCOL/2YOE/FDD making $97k. Managers MCOL close to $150k.

very Selective jobs( MF PE and BB IBs) kinda blow these numbers out of the water... but for the more attainable exits like MM IB and and corporate development... considering wlb and pay, is the grass much greener?

Thoughts?

Considering a move to NTT Data in a healthcare consulting role. Mixed reviews in the bowls. Major concerns are bench policy, staff aug roles, 2 week PTO, and high turnover due to job dissatisfaction. Understanding things have changed there in the last few months, I need un-biased advice from fellow fish who have recently joined or can speak to recent changes

Hi, I am interviewing netcracker. EOY 10 years in UI development. HR is saying I will have to again give managerial technical round even though I had completed 2 tech round followed by HR round. Can anyone spread light in below areas
1. How's the WLB ?
2. How's the Job security - I have seen many reviews about frequent layoff
3. Is there really quarterly appraisal and hike ?

What is the protocol with talking with recruiters? I'm not pre se looking to move right now but if something with more money and flexibility regarding location opens up then I'm not opposed.

Is it wrong to talk to them about possible opportunities?

Hi, been stuck in the contract analysis/review cycle. I have asked a few recruiters how to make a lateral move into in-house. They told me to focus on contract management, which I have been doing for the past year. Now that I have, are there any sites besides “jobscan” that I can use to make sure my resume fits the job descriptions? Does anybody know any recruiters that could help me, as well?

Hi all,

I joined
KPMG around 3 months ago but I am not getting work here. Although, I qualified some project's interview, yet due to some internal reason, they considered someone else, and I again came on bench.

I am unable to figure out what can be done now.

Should I start searching work outside.
(I hardly see any job openings these days)
(sap domain)

How's the resource management here?
(do they lagOff?)

Any inputs will be helpful.

Thanks!

Considering working from India for a couple of years due to personal reasons. Any advice for Salary expectations/negotiations? Haven't worked in India for over a decade.

If you are open/willing to offer referrals, happy to talk. Any insights are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi all,
I’m currently working for a small technical consulting start-up firm. I make good money, have great benefits, and they seem very happy with the work I’m doing, so I know I could move up quickly. However, tech consulting is definitely not my dream job. I want to get into data analytics, and I have an offer from a big company to do just that. I’ve only been at my current company for about 8 months, but I don’t ever see myself loving this job. How do I know when it’s time to make a change?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.

Help - how do I fight claims by scammer healthcare providers?

I recently went to 2 different providers.

Dentist, made appt via Zocdoc to see a dentist that was in network. Another dentist at the location saw me instead who was out of network. I have text evidence they said it would be covered before visit. Claim was denied - asking for ~500 dollars.

Saw a specialist who’s office staff verified my insurance would fully cover the claim. Get the claim, says they are out of network. Owe 600.
