Hello, I'm looking at a position within Paypal. My question, what is the work life balance, expectation for office (hybrid/remote/other) and is the pay comparable to other companies? I’ve seen great success with Anti-money laundering (AML) and certified fraud examiner (CFE) certification. Tie that with some cyber certifications or cloud engineering and you’ll become extremely marketable. Major companies (Amazon, Walmart, etc… also finance firms, banks, insurance, etc). Anywhere there’s money or transactions, there’s fraud teams!
Hardest part is getting started! But once the momentum starts, you’ll make it far (I started with just continuing a year for my masters and that rolled into my PhD… I’m sure once you start some certs, they’ll add up quick).
There are some professional associations that you should join before you start thinking about leaving. Decide what it is you wanna do and join those groups to get an idea of what’s out there. There are lots of jobs available and your skills will translate very well to the private sector, should you decide to go that route.
Going up in rank, getting a certificate, transitioning to a desk job, etc. There are many ways to move up in law enforcement, many different job opportunities and areas of growth in law enforcement.
I decided to switch to IT when I left the force. So in preparation for that, I took online courses and learned basic programming skills. It took me hours and hours, and I sacrificed my free time, but I managed to get a remote job. I still have a lot to learn, but at least I can finally get to work from home.
You can open up your own business. Or maybe bet some certifications. What are your interests and hobbies?
It really depends on what you want to do. Perhaps you have other skills, passions and interests. You can start from there.
