I just started an investment network for angels/accredited investors to get connected with startups and small businesses. We have 20 pitches and many more building pitches, but struggling to onboard accredited investors. Anyone have any advice/ideas for outreach?? Really passionate and willing to work any channel to expand our network. Thanks you!

Are you me? 😢 I was feeling this way recently, but I think it helps to remember that you’re already doing your best, and that not everything is on you. People are replaceable - do your best but don’t push yourself so hard that it compromises your emotional health.
Take it one day at a time! If you feel you’ve gotten through the whole day and tackled a little bit of many different tasks, that day is a success.
Thanks for the feedback. Good to know I’m not alone and people have been through the same. Just took the entire next week off to get some perspective back into my life. It was terrifying and I was shaking while putting it into my calendar and that’s when I realized I really needed it. I have tied my identity to performance at work and I need to disassociate from work to being some semblance of sanity back into my life.
Here you on the identity to performance at work. Kudos for taking some time off. Think it will be good for you. 🙂
Yes!! For me, therapy and Lexapro got me from feeling that way to “I’m back in the game” after like 1 year. Good luck!

Get a new job
Haven’t necessarily been through this same feeling; but have definitely felt stressed and helpless. The first thing to know is that you’re not helpless and def not alone. You should take time off; it’s critically important to do so to take a step back and reevaluate your career and life. If it’s not the job; still take time off - try to find a professional to help you through this as well.
You are in control of your life via the decisions you make. You can’t always control the outcomes but you can control your actions. Don’t aural without realizing this.

Here’s what you can do tonight:
1. Call your employer’s Employee Assistance Program. They have counselors available to talk with you 24/7. You get 6-10 sessions for free. You can set up a daily appointment for the next few days to check in.
2. Plan to take tomorrow off as a sick day. What you’re talking about is de-realization and potentially dissociation. It’s considered a neurobiological illness to cope with distress or trauma.
Here’s what you can do tomorrow
3. Tomorrow, spend an hour outside in a green space. Being in nature improves mood.
4. Call your insurance and find a therapist who is in network and accepts your insurance. Set up an appointment. See them 2-3x a week for the next 3-4 weeks.
5. Consider taking a medical leave of absence and find an outpatient program centered on anxiety and depression recovery. Depending on your firm and your tenure, you are entitled to a certain number of weeks of fully paid leave. After a certain number of weeks, it usually drops down to 60% of pay.
6. Schedule time to meet up with a friend for coffee or something. Tell them what’s going on. Be honest.
You’re not alone. Many of us have had these moments. Try to hold on to the belief that all of this is temporary. Don’t ignore your concerns. Take action to provide yourself with self care.

I have and I switched jobs and took time off in between
Yes, time to find a new job or at least a new role (if possible) at your current company. I felt the same for last 1-2 years prior to leaving and finally bit the bullet and made the switch. Nothing is perfect, I have a lot to learn in my new role (hard after being someplace a long time), but the change has been good for me.
Right and if you did that and figured out it is time to leave, DO IT.
Pro
Start by reminding yourself that you are in charge of your life.
Create a schedule for yourself with a focus on balance and renewal.
Try to set aside time to practice gratitude.
Same OP. You’re not alone! For me it’s a combination of pandemic isolation, starting new job, really disappointed in said job, burnout/stress from job, feeling unfulfilled, and life being consumed by work. So in other words - mostly job related lol. I think once I realized what was bothering me so much and why I was feeling the way I was I knew what I had to do. Also have been thinking a lot about why I let my dissatisfaction with work and just my general attitude towards work = identity or certain stressors bother me so much whereas others seem to not get bogged down by it. Trying to cultivate other parts of my life and working out to stay happy, mentally healthy, etc. Def work in progress lol. Also therapy can be a great option as other poster mentioned!
