I filed 2500 emails since yesterday and finished quite a few minor tasks that has been piled up for months and delivered a two things ahead of deadline. It felt so good to have a day like this which I’ve never had for a least a year. it’s a miracle. Never took medicine for ADHD but started magnesium supplement 2 days ago. Could it be the effect of the supplement?

Wow that’s awesome! I’d like to hear what others say! Did you ask your doc before starting magnesium?

I started taking vitamin D with magnesium, and it helped. Maybe I should get more magnesium

I was looking for a vitamin d supplement on Amazon. This one had vitamin C and magnesium, too, so I figured why not. I've taken vitamin d supplements before but this one is amazing

I have heard that magnesium does have benefits, obviously it can vary a ton person to person and not sure if it would interact with things you are already taking. But there are a lot of different types of it too, because I have looked into it before but was kind of lost when it came to that.

Whoa I am so jealous OP because you got more accomplished in a day then I have gotten done in a week. Good for you! I love when I have a day where my focus just can't be broken and I get so much done. I truly feel like I am on top of the world for a few minutes until I get behind again. But hey, we are hanging in there haha.

like

Never able to control when that moment comes haha. 99.9% of the time I’m just hanging in there.

Our 5 month old started daycare about 5 weeks ago. We’ve already had to keep her home for 2.5 of those 5 weeks due to catching various illnesses (croup, rsv, brinchiolitis, etc). Both my wife and I have been sick most of that time as well (gotten it from the baby). Wife is thinking we get a full time nanny for the next 4 months to help the baby build antibodies. Cost aside, is this feasible / worthwhile to go thru the effort / finding the right fit, only for 4 months?

If anyone out there (at a small NYC agency) has a better plan and is comfortable sharing, would you mind telling me who your company uses? My kids’ college funds thank you!

I’ve slowly started drinking less and less. And the less I’m drinking the more I realize just how much of my time revolved around alcohol. From going to get it, to drinking it to fighting hangovers. Now I realize I need something to fill all that time with. Especially now that I’m not spending all day saturday and sunday deathly hungover. I go for walks and run errands…but in a shock to me…there’s still a lot of time left. How did you start spending your time once you stopped drinking?

There’s been some posts on the best planning tools (e.g. planners, calendars, etc.), but my question is how do ppl make sure they use them? I get them and am excited about the possibility of them helping for about a week then I just stop using it. Even if I find it helpful I just never stay consistent with it. Does this happen to others? Any tricks or suggestions to stay consistent using planners, to do lists, calendars, etc.

One of my frustrations with myself (writing it out here so I can work on it) is that I will print out something that I need, such as a traffic collision report. I will read it without actually reading it. This results in spending time without actually retaining info. Does this happen to anyone else? I’ve found that I can actually focus when I truly force myself, but often this happens after I’ve discovered an error or an important piece of information that I should have noticed earlier.

One of the things that my ADD coach helped me with was realizing that I wasn’t prioritizing activities that help me feel recharged. Between work and home responsibilities, I was just burnt out and overwhelmed.

So now when I start to get burned out I focus on reducing auditory overwhelm, getting outside, listen to music, get comfortable, read a fun book, etc.

As we’re heading into the weekend, what are some things you do to recharge and give yourself a break?
