I had some missteps in the early stage of my career and want to catch up on career progression. I'm a senior associate right now and outperform my peers. Does Big4 ever make an exception to early promote a senior associate to manager? What is the the least amount of time needed for senior to manager promotion?

EAs who manage people / have direct reports -- did your title change when you took on people management? What is your official title now?

(Context - trying to decide what title to recommend for EAs in our org who now manage people. Currently, we have multiple levels, but all EAs have the "Executive Assistant" title regardless of seniority / level / manager status.)

I am in need of some advice I have a bachelors in healthcare administration. My long term goal would be a CEO of a hospital. I am looking at masters programs and need some advice as what to get my masters in. I could get my masters in healthcare administration but would like to look at something a little different maybe healthcare leadership or something. Anyone have some advice?

Has anyone made the transition from law to public accounting or tax in industry? Are you happier? I’ve been thinking about making such a move since there seems to be more remote opportunities in accounting. Advice or talk me off the ledge?

How useful is sponsorship as a negotiating lever for full-time roles? I realistically do not see myself going back to consulting after B school. I have to stay for 3-4 more months to keep my sponsorship but starting to seriously consider quitting ASAP

For those of you in healthcare related account management, what is your healthcare background? I am clinical and getting ready to hire a higher level account manager. I am really biased toward people with clinical/in hospital experience because, quite frankly, healthcare is a different beast - lots of hand holding and change management. I don’t want to miss the right person because of my bias, so im wondering how many healthcare related AMs have healthcare/clinical experience… thanks in advance!

Does anyone have any career insight for a tax associate in corp dev? Is it as lucrative as regular corp dev? What do you do on a day-to-day basis?

Got a 30% salary bump, via an offer for Senior Consultant S&O from Deloitte. Currently underpaid at EY Advisory. I'm MBA and this year is my promotion year at EY for Manager. What to do? Get demoted and move to D? Or counter at EY? Even if EY matches my salary, and promote me to Manager, I will be an EY Manager with a Deloitte SC salary, and probably won't be able to go to D in the future. What do you think? I have built up a good relationship with my Partner and SMs at EY though.

Hi, anyone get their CIA after finishing up CPA? I’m currently trying to finish part 2 of the 3 exams, and I’m finding the study material Gliem provides doesn’t help much with part 2.

I prepared an analysis of my jobs (acting as manager) comparing actual realization to budgeted and was told I shldnt be looking at that. Shouldnt performance to budget be a metric mngrs are eval’d on?

Will I seem like a jerk and risk being able to boomerang if I put in notice before big audit client? I won’t know I got the job until 2 weeks before then and new job would start when the audit starts.

I passed CPA and have audit experience but I don’t really understand how industry accounting cycle works :( What does it mean to close the books? Are they referring to 12/31 deadline?
