AD1 I’m not looking, I’m full time at an agency. But it seems like the only people getting ahead are childless and available to work 24/7
I'm like 90% sure I don't travel as much because I have a kid (granted I also do this solo).
You can look at it one of two ways...
1. They're taking into account your life situation, giving you more time with your kid
2. You're getting held back because of some perspective of availability
For me, it's number one. But I also get confirmation of my value to the company. If it's number 2, you may want to talk to your bosses and talk about how you want more responsibility, etc. (Leave the kid out of it if you think that's the bias)
Good luck!
I’m sorry to hear that. Bias against parents sucks and so do employers who let that be a factor. Do people ask you interviews? I’m curious when it comes up when you’re applying for a job.
