I have an AD that I’ve become frustrated by recently. They are extremely nice and always willing to help me out, but they lack a lot of confidence. Both in presenting and having complex conversations with clients, I am more often the one handling because I am stronger and more willing in both areas. I don’t get the sense my clients trust them as a result, and I feel like I lack an internal authority to go to with complex problems/questions. How would you recommend addressing this?

My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. Someone told me today that they just assume I’m not interested because I always seem to “run” but I’m not sure how to bring up problems/feelings otherwise. How do you approach these hard questions?

Does anyone else have that one person who is more senior than you that is just always so condescending while adding no value themselves? I have a director who I work with (not in my direct mgmt line) that just treats everyone on my team so poorly, so I act as the shield and it’s so annoying how someone who is so disrespectful and honestly not super value-added only ask for data/questions and not provide any genuine input or recommendations.

How do you guys handle working with a staff accountant who just completely ignores you when you delegate work down to them, and who gives you an attitude all the time? If I send an email, I also have to follow up with her on teams multiple times, and hope after a few hours she actually does what she says she will do. Right so here’s a bit of a dilemma I work to a much higher standard at home and it’s this high standard that means I’m in line for a promotion.
