Hey folks
I got a call from TCS to interview for a new unit formed within org with the name of Business Transformation Group as per new org restructuring. Anyone from TCS who can help to understand more about this?
Does it cater to only niche technologies or how does this actually function?

Commenting bc im curious to hear the feedback b/c im also in a similar boat.
Possibly if "consultations" are not central to the type of work, ie you are a contractor, as opposed to being a management consultant or a consulting detective. Then don't put it in the job title. If you must, use "consulting" or perhaps "consultative" or some synonym, would move it into the job detail experience section.
Do you have SDLC knowledge and experience? The problem with some consultants is that they advised but not owned and had accountability to drive efforts. Highlight those aspects of what you owned in a full life cycle sense. A lot of the consultants I meet never had to manage a production environment which influences the design so you may want to highlight those considerations as well. Hope that helps some…Good luck to you!!
I'm in a same boat too. Applied 100s of companies but no response at all. Followed all the best guidelines to make my resume but not sure what's wrong.
After I had to quit a Cybersecurity company in 2019 due to health reasons, I was out of work for a total of 4 out of 5 years in tech.
3500 jobs applied to…1000 at least replies, 200 had an online or single interview, 20 had a second interview and landed a decent tech job in June 2023.
Of the 200 interviews, about 10% Ended up being eliminated due to age discrimination…it is as real as race, gender, etc., discrimination.
Keep plugging and you will get a hit. Throw a big enough net and you will catch fish…
I have consultant on my resume and it did not hurt me…depends on whom you talk to and what can you tell what you did as a consultant.
What type of consulting were you doing. Being a software consultant is a lot different from a marketing consultant or project management consultant. Just be more specific about the role/position in the job title.
Just a tip, the proper English phrase is I learned instead of I got to know.
i receive rejections usually within 24 hours up to 9 months after I apply lmao , but ive always been employed - just was looking for a second gig job to do the bare minimum and collect a check
There are many roles where consulting experience is an asset. In particular those where you influence others without direct authority like operational excellence, change management and project management. You don't specify which type of consulting you were doing and which type of job you're looking for. But considering that strategic consulting firm are way over represented in boards and executive senior teams, I don't think it's a disadvantage at all to have consulting experience. Good luck!
This experience is familiar. Even lost count on the number of jobs applied. Can't say for sure what's the problem with my resume. Point is I'm still applying with the hope of finally landing that job some day.
