I have been going through community manager job ads to see what skills I should focus on. The responsibilities seem to vary significantly between companies. What are the core hard skills you think someone should focus on?

The most important thing a commcommunity manager must have is creativity and good communication skills. To be able to send the right messages, create interesting content and be able to design the right strategy to keep your audience engaged and entertained you must have good creativity.

I have always thought that to be successful in all aspects you must have discipline and organization. This also applies to be a good community manager because in this job you are always juggling several projects at the same time, with a good organization it is possible to meet deadlines and this is essential for this job.

Some essential skills include social media marketing, customer service, and project management. Community managers need to be able to effectively engage with customers on social media, resolve any issues that may arise, and manage projects to ensure that they are completed on time and within budget.

Crisis management is a very important and sought after skill in a Community Manager. Apart from that, social media marketing is very useful.

Hi Everyone, I’m looking for advice. Right now I’m currently facing a hard decision. I’ve been at my work for 5 months as an HR assistant and have been given the opportunity to take on the Executive Assistant role. I’m in my early 20’s and still unsure what career path I want to take. I know I want to keep moving up and doing more but again, not sure where I want to be. I’d appreciate your thoughts and advice from your experiences along with pros/cons on either position. Anything would help!

Does an MBA (US) make sense for me? Male, Indian, Age 32, Married working in tech consulting with 10 YOE. Base is $165 with steady increases and bonus is typically 15%. I eventually do want to cross the $300K threshold but I know stopping work for 2 years and getting and MBA probably won’t get me a $300K job right away. Becoming a manger in my current company/path will probably get me there in terms of TC. Also considering EMBA from a good school (Wharton Global, Duke, Kellogg, Booth).

I’ve been with my current company for a little over 5 years now and since the start of the pandemic have been WFH. I absolutely love WFH and have always wanted a position in which I could WFH. There is talk of bringing everyone back to the office full time and that’s not what I would like to happen. I’ve been searching for a new position in which it would be a remote role. My current company also said I am maxed out in term of what they are willing to pay salary wise.
