Sorry to hear this happened to you. I would go back and try these and good luck: Highlight Your Achievements: Make a list of your achievements and contributions to the company over the past 5 years. Be specific about how you have contributed to the company's success and how your work has helped to improve the company's image.
Research Salary Data: Do some research to find out what other professionals in your field and with your level of experience are earning. This can help you to make a more compelling case for a raise based on industry standards.
Be Open to Feedback: Ask your manager for feedback on what specific goals or achievements you need to meet in order to be considered for a raise in the future. This can help you to understand your manager's expectations and work towards meeting those goals.
Consider Negotiating Other Benefits: If your manager is not willing to offer you a raise, consider negotiating other benefits such as additional vacation time, flexible hours, or professional development opportunities.
Plan Your Next Steps: If your manager is not willing to offer you a raise or negotiate other benefits, it may be time to consider other options such as looking for a new job or seeking a promotion within the company.
I was able to negotiate a 30% raise by doing research, laid out all my completed projects, positive feedback from both members and teammates, how I affected company goals, PLUS industry standards using the salary reports and job descriptions from Community Roundtable, Community Club, and CMX.
If after that they still won’t pay what you’re worth it’s time to dust off that resume.
After giving them your best for 5 years they couldn't even give you a raise? I am sorry that this happened to you. I would be very disappointed myself and personally, I will start looking for another company that values my work and will pay me proportionately with my performance and skills.
