Ironically freedom in the consulting world is your corporate job explaining why it’s the norm to leave consulting for the freedom of a corporate/industry job - never heard it the other way around before
Who told you that there’s freedom in consulting?!? lol
You have to find your own rhythm and take advantage of the lulls that allow you to do things during the day when most people have to be in an office.
OP, freedom in consulting is a myth. Hopefully you are making a bit more to offset.
Who tf told you there’s freedom in consulting?
If you want to be a client-facing consultant and also have good work-life balance, you need to work for the PS org of what you’re consulting, not a consulting company. A consulting company is selling your services, while a software company is primarily selling software. One prioritizes billing hours, the other prioritizes customer retention and support.
This is a huge difference between “consulting jobs”.
