Bit of a silly question but does networking even help you get to the interview stage at MBB if you don't have a referral? ( trying to determine if a referral is the only end goal).

First job out of school - how to deal with imposter syndrome?

I was recently hired and am really excited for the role and what’s to come, but I’ve been feeling very lost. Not sure what my daily workload should look like, what I should be accomplishing, and how often to reach out. Maybe WFH has something to do with this. It feels like my manager is not sure what to do with me, and this being my first role I’m not quite sure what to be doing either myself. Any tips on overcoming this?

Sorry for cross-post but is in-house a feasible exit option for attorneys with the federal government? Let me preface this by saying that this is super premature as I just got the tentative offer from the government for a position focusing on labor and employment litigation before the EEOC, but I wanted to plan ahead and see what my options were down the road if I'm looking for a bigger paycheck. I'm currently 13 YOE in private practice at mostly small/mid size firms.

I am currently working as a financial advisor for a wealth management firm. I feel like I would rather be in less of a commission role and am not sure I love this niche in the business field. ARVL looks very attractive. It’s just $1 a share and it still has its investments from big auto manufacturers. It is very focused on quality and has responded to market events with care. The company will begin its production of low cost EU certified electric buses in Q4. Electric is the future and now is the time to invest! While big auto manufacturers have quickly begun production, their cost has continued to increase, while ARVL offers a competitive product that will evolve in 5-6 yrs.

Me: M7 MBA, 8 YOE, including in industry operations and T2 strategy consulting

Them: MM PE buyout fund, no specific industry focus. Most recent fund $2.5B+, AUM $5B+

Role: VP of Operations, joining an Ops team that will be ~10 people total top to bottom

Offer: $200 base, $150 bonus, and ‘carry’ that is actually just a deal performance-based cash payment that is awarded to non-carry individuals (cont)

Would love any thoughts on my current situation. Worked 1 year at a T2 firm (EYP, OW, S&) and make the transition over to MBB 3 months ago.

I’m 2 YOE, trying to break into CRE. I just had my second interview with the EVP AND SVP of Asset & Portfolio Management a Healthcare Private Reit for a PM/AM Analyst position. They told me everything went great in my interviews, but they want me to interview with others at the firm and to provide them with references before they make a decision. The problem is the pay range is $60-65k, while I’m currently making 73.5k as a fs consultant at low end of the pay band. Is the opportunity sensible?
