I take my job and career so seriously that I can’t stand other people slacking

Need some advice. During May of 2021 an operations manager and an hourly Hr employee started a relationship while the ops manager was married. We had supervisors give us pictures of those two kissing at workFast forward they are now engaged and getting married. The HR worker does not work here anymore since July 2021. Is it too late to investigate the ops manager for misconduct ? The ops manager has worked here for 15 years and is super valuable, the operation literally can not run without him.

I just finished a big jury trial with a senior partner (SP). There were co-parties w/separate counsel. SP mentally checked out, to the point that co-counsel was asking what SP was doing/if SP was okay. I ended up handling most everything. SP did a few parts but went rogue and did things that were offensive/risky/bad for client. It became clear that SP is not performing like SP used to and may be a liability. Do I tell someone at my firm? Don’t want to offend SP or cause drama, but I’m concerned.

How did you give notice you were lateraling to people you like? Particularly if you haven't been there that long?

I'm lateraling to another firm because frankly I think the management of this one is terrible, but the people (and individual partners) I actually work with are awesome. I've only been here for about 18 months, so I imagine that short time frame will make it extra awkward 😬

What do you do when you feel stuck and unappreciated in your company? You love the work but it goes unrecognised no matter how much value you provide and not rewarded fairly.

Am I particularly uptight, or is writing meant to be done alone, without a partner talking to you? With past partners, we chat through script notes and then I go off to execute. Current partner likes to sit and chat as I write. To me, writing is crafting a conversation. So I can’t talk to you and simultaneously talk to this audience. Of course I can just say “I’m gonna go write.” But since we’re both CD level, I’m like…is this his first rodeo? Maybe other writers are different though.

I didn't apply for a job that would have set me up for the future in the government. I wouldn't have to worry about money or future jobs. My boss had just given me a small pay rise and talked up the future and so I felt good.
