Hello Fishes 🐟🎏
I am rigorously looking for a job from past few months and tried applying many opportunities i came across, but everywhere I receive is Rejection or No response at all. I am not sure what needs to be added to my profile to get more attention or is it really something because of my Notice period which is 90 days at HCL.

TBWA NY recruiter?
Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

@Strategy Director 1 and @ Executive Producer 1 nail it. Stay where you are for now. Please. You will discover that an environment of good mentors & a place that moves you up at a good pace, but a pace you can acclimate to, is quite rare nowadays. Savor it. Many times, jumping up too fast, and to the wrong place, means you are actually jumping into a very deep pool, with sharks & no life guards on duty. Those adventures often don’t last long or end well - and then you can’t get back to good place you were at — because someone else has taken your place.
OP slow your roll. If you want to work past 40 stop rushing and focus on mastering your discipline. The quicker your title and salary increases the faster you will be pushed out of the industry.
I’m sure they don’t tell you “you’re too young.” They probably say “not enough experience.”
Decouple your age from this. The reality is, important clients say things like “when are you replacing my strategy director? I’m not okay having this planner with 6 years experience running my billion dollar business.”
It’s not about you. It’s about what they need
Why your title sez strategist not sez direktor tho? 🤷♂️
@ep slow down & master the craft. Really good reminder. Easy to get caught up in continually moving up, so thanks for the check.
@sd Not precious to a title. But taking a demotion in responsibility, client/creative relationships, and pay is illogical. And - they are. But appreciate the condescending “better question” ✌️
If the title is that important to you, stay where you are.
The better question is, why aren’t your “great mentors” answering this question? Or better yet, vouching for you?
I have friends who are ACDs 4 years out of school and I would never trust them to crit my work even though I respect them. Maybe take some time and get a deeper dive into what you are doing instead of promotion hopping. Or, maybe you come from a background that makes your quick promotions relevant. If so. Play up the background
MP1 speaks the truth
@MP1 speaks the truth. That just happened to me, and now i’ve got no option but to get out of this industry
do you have a solid portfolio? i had a similar experience (given lots of responsibility very early), and i really think having a great portfolio to show has helped. i worked on it a long time but it was worth it
Lol - edited. Age decoupled. But the question still stands. Totally understand what clients are looking for. I’m not complaining about them turning me down. Simply asking what to do about it.
OP, might help if you tell us how many years out of school you are. What’s the number they’re reacting to?
I have work I’m proud to show and it’s helped. But continually hearing not enough experience. Am I stuck for awhile until the years match up? Take dates off my resume? Just need to find an internal connection to vouch?
