Got an interview with Amazon within their Advertising department. I hear working for Amazon can be great if you get into the right department. Anyone have insights to their advertising department? Good or bad? Also, would love some interview tips if you have them! (It’s for an Executive Assistant position) thank you!

Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?

I’ve done this - at WPP. Surprised they even saw you without the other knowing. I had to tell HR before they even spoke to me about it! My experience was great when I moved within WPP. After I spoke to HR, they advised me to talk to my manager as well, and everyone was super supportive about moving. They’d rather keep talent within the group. In inside.wpp.com there’s some good info about poaching guidelines and mobility.
I’m surprised the other agency even saw you. I had a sister agency who liked my stuff say they didn’t even want to deal with the hassle
Check the handbook. I'm at IPG and they're very particular about who needs to know what and when.
With that said, I can't imagine your HR will hold you back. Tread carefully but don't wait too long just because you're worried.
Most times, as long as you apply fist, it's fine. As long as the sister agency didn't "recruit" you, you're good.
Been a bit since I looked so check the handbook, but I think it says you must tell your manager and HR before applying and that you max out at a 15% raise.
I'd think you'd be ok to reach out to the new agency first to check interest before blowing up your spot to your manager.
WPP has insanely strict rules on what they deem “poaching.” When I worked at Y&R a girl got terminated for scheduling an interview with another WPP shop. I’m pretty surprised they even interviewed you.
