I work in Internal audit in a 4 person department and want to visit my family half way across the world. How long is an acceptable time off request? Would asking for 3 weeks off be unthoughtful?

Is there a policy preventing me from putting in my two weeks notice December 20th (Jan 3rd last day)? That would look like a week and a day of firm paid holiday and then 3days of PTO the second week.
