Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.
TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)
TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)
Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon

Fantastic move. Don’t look back. Hybrid skill set will serve you well and business leadership comes in many form, you can run clients from strategy and many do. Good luck
I went down that same path left account side. Went to strategy then went to health technology company back to strategy and then eventually back to account. It doesn't affect your trajectory should only enhance it based on the knowledge and experience you get along the way.
Was in strategy for about 3 years total.
Before my first move to strategy I was in account for about 9 years.
I haven't done this, but we hired a Senior Digital Project Manager that had a ping pong career between PM, accounts, and Strategy.
Her CV was mental! Once she hit AD she just bounced between senior roles in those areas. She didn't want to lead a team. She was happy mentoring people, but she wanted to have an active role in projects.
She was absolutely amazing as a senior PM because of all her experience, so I think that this career move will not hinder you at all! Go for it! 💪🏻
I’m interested in that same path. I enjoy strategy, pm and mentoring so I’m looking into diverse or hybrid roles. I don’t get fixated on titles. From what I’ve experienced, the more diverse your skill set, the better.
Also best time to do it is now, earlier in your career. Good luck!
This is a better early career move. The challenge for senior strategists is getting clients to sign off on inckuding them in project scopes given their higher rates
That’s what I’ve noticed as well. I’ve had to leverage strat teams without actually letting them bill many hours, thus forcing me step into more of a strategy mindset as fill in
Yes I think the skills are absolutely transferable, there are also roles out there that combine both.
