If you had an opportunity to become an ITS leader at large regional firm versus a national senior manager role at a big 4 and the like which opportunity would you take

It really depends on where you expect your big 4 career to take you and how do you like working for a slightly different complement of clients. It's generally a good opportunity but I found out recently that the regional firms also do a good sales job where there ends up being a gap between the reality and the created fiction. If you move, make sure you get equity partner and they don't put you on any ladder.

To add the regional firm already has a robust ITS group with about 10 to 15 people

Agreed. I just did something similar. Culture is biggest thing and how strong are those resources they have?

Consider whether that team of 10-15 will welcome a new, outsider leader. Often see similar fact patterns result in significant turnover.

Today I learned a new thing. One candidate was referred by a colleague of mine in the system. He got selected and offer letter rolled out.

When he checked the system he realized the referral was not taken and the background system captured it as direct hire.

So my friend is not going to get any referral incentive.

Wondering if anyone else faced the same issue?

Job has up to 80% travel PwC

How is typically life for these positions requiring travel? This is for a SWE position.
Currently work with clients is remote as stated by the recruiter. If work is currently feasible through virtual means, will there be flexibility to choose to travel for this position?

I have an offer with PWC and have a family. I would prefer to be with my family.

Does anyone have a similar experience? I interviewed with recruiters from two of "Big 4". Both interviews went well, and I was told the recruiters will submit my resume to the partners and senior managers for the next interviews. 3 weeks later, I received the rejection letters without the next interview. I wonder why the partners even not bothered to interview me. If it matters, I am a CPA with 3 years non-PA experience and applied for experienced associate positions. I appreciate any insights.

Can’t decide between reporting + technical roles vs corporate accounting roles. Coming out of audit and I like both aspects. Has anyone tried both sides and have any insights? Does one of these have higher salary potential? Does corporate accounting give you a higher chance of reaching a controller position since you’re actually in the GL, whereas technical + reporting will probably have you in a specialized group in larger companies?
