They won’t cover lunch when u travel...and that dumbassness is all I need to know about the leadership of EY
EY is actuals not per diem. Lunch isn't covered. 60$ max phone bill redemption. But nice ppl over all.
The firm is getting pretty top heavy across the board so progression has gotten much much harder. I’d check other options.
OP, is that with Cyber or Data practice or internal?
Cyber, advisory
Where are you coming from and why are you leaving?
Great call - to base your career decisions on lunch and phone bill reimbursement.
OP, I’m in National Advisory. I like it. I’ve progressed quickly and have always had support from the leadership.
Thank you to those with constructive feedback. I am well aware of the lunch and phone allowance.
EY3- coming from boutique
EY2- when you state top heavy is it PPED or manager up?
Getting to manager is easy. Post that seems to be taking longer. I’m seeing more people spend 4-5 years at M when 3 used to be the norm. Also seeing 6-8 years at SM to get to PPED.
Cyber is a growth practice, so moving up may be easier. That was the case with PI when it was just starting out (eg, the 3 years @ M mentioned above). If you like the people you meet with, i think it’s a good opportunity to progress, get some good experience and additional skills.
Thank you all
Lol to all the idiots saying lunch isn’t covered... it is. All you do is charge your breakfast as lunch or better yet get breakfast and lunch... two separate charges, no one cares. It doesn’t matter as long as you end up averaging 60 dollars a day. Plus you can meal average. Spent 3.5 years at EY on all traveling projects and never got caught for charging lunch. Everyone does it.
That being said EY is a cheap ass firm for other reasons. Ex. Trying to keep you local projects, 60 dollar phone limit, etc.
D1- thank you for your input. Could you elaborate on how the economics work to EYs advantage by keeping folks local? It’s coming out of the clients budget
