I'm considering switching from delta to united since I got a lucrative promotion although I have one question: would it be harder to get complimentary upgrades?

Anyone at O’Hare this weekend by any chance? United sent me an email that I need to be there 3 hours early (for my domestic flight), which is approximately 2.5 hours earlier than I would normally get there. Is it really that crowded?

My project has no direct flights from my city. The earliest flight on Mon. is at 5am -to make this I would have to be awake at 3am is it reasonable to request Sun. night travel or a later Mon. Flight?
