Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

It takes 6 months to find a job. At SM level it takes 9 months or more. Gotta be prepared financially and emotionally for a layoff - always.
I agree with this time line. It took me 8-9 months of looking for my role
Your real qualification has nothing to do the current situation. We are in a pandemic and a recession. So don't take it personal! You are great!
Many companies are waiting to see how the markets will turn, they sometimes have problems of their own and their HR processes are also in a change or not yet aligned to digital and virtual Covid processes. So this does take time.
I understand that this is still a time of high pressures (uncertainty, financial etc.) but also an opportunity. Some of the next points seem simple, but I often see that many people don't do that. So how can you go on:
1. Think strategically where business will grow even in these times (Health, Public Services,...).
2. Think about where you want to go or be in the future. Do you want to stay in consulting or maybe change and go client side. If so, expect that this may take longer and payment will probably be less.
3. Concentrate on where you want to go and don't apply blindly on anything that gives you a job. Try to connect to people there. Use your network and connection to find out more and to get support so that the important people will look at your CV. Also many job offerings in papers and platforms are generic and often not true to what you will do. So try to find out, what the job is really about
4. Individualize every CV and letter to the job you are applying for
5. Keep calm and carry on. Don't panic. Life really does go on. Remember other times like a break up which are somewhat similar. Life went on and you will be happy afterwards.
Hope it helps. I failed in my life more then once, but these are the lessons I learned.
It’s not you. Not a lot of companies hiring during this time. Ex-D and took 6 months to find another job.

Ex-D at what level and YOE.?
Interviews are not a measure of your capability. Hang in there. Something better awaits you.
Same situation here. I was an ex Accenture myself early in my career. 3-6 month search is normal in this market. The brand does not help much in a recession.. It is not you but the market. Job searching during Covid is not easy. I have been looking and interviewing for 2 months. Keep networking, fellowing up and pushing things along. Things will move along in January. Reach out to ex-Accenture and Big 4 alum.. I found folks are farely open to step in and help if/when they can.
It is not you. Slow process for many of us. Hang in there.
Is it you? No. Market is tough I agree but can you not get a job? You can. How many jobs are you applying to every week? What kind of roles? I was laid off in Sep and got two offers and one in pipeline. I want to help you in whatever way I can. DM me.
We’re hiring - dm me.
If you’re interested just DM me. I can’t say I know what they need for Director level roles. But doesn’t hurt to ask.

We’re hiring as well. DM me and I’ll connect you with teams

Just wanted to chime in and say I love the Amazon folks , they’re always willing to help people. Thanks guys and gals . If you’re interested in Cap, DM me
No I’m not. Just paying it forward
I agree with all of the above but what to do in case you are running out of your finances. I have been in the same situation since July and am a recent 2019 MBA graduate so running out of my savings. Had final interviews with many places only to hear that position has been closed or the team's direction has changed. The pandemic has really made people apathetic and not respecting the candidates time and effort.
Happy to help!
Stay strong,you’ve got this...
No. Thinking like that won’t do you any good. It’s extremely competitive these days but don’t stop trying. Take every negative feedback as a learning opportunity. It took me ~4 months to find a new job.
I’ve heard job market should significantly pick up in Q1 as companies figure out ‘21 headcount and also the vaccine seems promising as a second tailwind
It’s definitely not you. Been struggling since July 2019 to find a way out of ACN and haven’t gotten anywhere. Not even sure how I wasn’t let go, but the market can be unbelievably tough.
What is your skill set
